Cutting Through Confusion

Our mission is to make AI simple, practical, and impactful for Australian businesses. We cut through the hype to deliver training and advice that genuinely works.
Shaun Davies, founder of The AI Training Company

Meet Shaun Davies

Shaun has spent 20 years at the forefront of major tech shifts inside some of the world's biggest media and technology companies. He knows how AI works from the inside out.

At Microsoft, he led AI safety and quality for a content feed seen by over a billion people, building the systems that make AI safer for everyone. In 2025, he worked with Google to train newsrooms how to use AI.

Now, he brings that 'big tech' experience directly to you.

Shaun is also the independent reviewer for the Australian Code of Practice on Disinformation and Misinformation and recently completed a Masters by Research degree at the University of Technology Sydney, focusing on the intersection of journalism and AI.

Prior to AI, Shaun held a variety of roles in technology, communications and media. He was a senior leader in digital news businesses like the BBC and Nine, and spent time in Japan working on corporate communications for companies like Uber, AOL and Docusign.

Common questions about our training:

Where is AITC based?
We're based in Sydney, with consultants in Melbourne and Canberra. We travel for client work and have delivered training across Australia and New Zealand.
Who founded the AI Training Company?
Shaun Davies founded AITC. Shaun previously led AI safety and quality for a Microsoft content feed seen by over a billion people, worked with Google in 2025 to train newsrooms on AI and is the independent reviewer for the Australian Code of Practice on Disinformation and Misinformation.
Is AITC affiliated with Microsoft, Google, or OpenAI?
No. We're an independent training and consulting company. We're tool-agnostic and train teams on whichever platform they use including Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, OpenAI ChatGPT, and others. But, we don't represent or sell any of them.
What AI tools do you train people on?
Our frameworks are tool-agnostic. We cover Microsoft Copilot (M365, Excel, Teams, Copilot Studio), Google AI (Gemini, Workspace, NotebookLM), and OpenAI (ChatGPT, Custom GPTs, Deep Research, Agent). We tailor the curriculum to whatever your organisation actually uses.
Is AITC a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)?
No. AITC delivers practical, industry-led training rather than accredited qualifications. Our work focuses on building real capability in your team, not producing certificates.
Does you provide training outside of Australia?
Yes. Our founder Shaun Davies has extensive experience working with New Zealand businesses and we welcome any New Zealand based inquiries. We will also consider larger proposals from across the Asia-Pacific region.
